The Women's Visionary Congress will take place at a historic natural hot springs in the Coastal Range foothills of Colusa County California, 22 miles west of the town of Williams and two and a half hours northeast of San Francisco.

The natural hot mineral springs, now known as Wilbur Hot Springs, have been a place of healing for many centuries. Native peoples sought the powerful healing properties of the springs long before white settlers arrived. Even before the days of stagecoach, the mineral hot springs have soothed weary travelers seeking respite and rejuvenation. The WVC will take place on this beautiful land.

At the turn of the century, a comfortable hotel was built on the site to accommodate guests who seek relaxation in a rustic and serene setting. Wilbur Hot Springs is now an 1800 acre private retreat with miles of pristine walking trails, a lovely natural springs pool and four hot soaking flumes or chambers where the mineral water passes through. Participants at the WVC will have access to the entire site.

Meals at the WVC will take place at the Wilbur Hot Springs hotel and are included in the ticket price. Tickets for camping at the WVC are sold out. There are a limited rooms and women's bunk room spaces that can be reserved for an additional fee. Contact Sarah, at (831) 252-0023 for information about room availability and pricing.

The greatest gift of Wilbur Hot Springs is the natural hot mineral water. The spa at Wilbur is a true sanctuary. Sheltered by a Fluminarium, the water is channeled into three flumes containing water at a variety of temperatures. Clothing is optional while taking the waters; however, it is required everywhere else on property. The flume areas, the bathhouse and the sauna will be open day and night to participants at the WVC.

Along with the baths, Wilbur Hot Springs offers massage and bodywork sessions which will be available during the WVC. Massage (Swedish, deep tissue, and other techniques) is offered by licensed professional therapists. Advance reservations for massage are required and can be made by phoning Wilbur at (530) 473-2306 from 10 am to 8 pm daily.

Panel presentations at the WVC will take place at the Wilbur Hot Springs hotel. Participants are encouraged to bring their bicycles to explore the nearby Wilbur valley.

Because of the extreme fire danger during the dry summer months, smoking will be allowed only in designated areas.

It will be hot during the day. Make sure you bring a hat, sun block, a water bottle and long sleeve shirt to keep the sun off you. Parasols will also be useful. Bring warm clothes for the evening. In order to respect this beautiful land, this is a Leave No Trace event. All participants are required to remove their own trash and garbage. While we love dogs, we ask that you not bring your dog to the WVC unless it is a seeing eye dog or other type of service dog.

There will be no cell phone access at Wilbur Hot Springs and no public phones. There is also no Internet access and no ATMs. The Wilbur Hot Springs hotel is run on a solar array and there will be no electrical power source for campers or hotel guests. The nearest town of Williams is 22 miles away. The WVC is an exercise in community self-reliance. Bring everything you need for your personal comfort during the weekend.
